I was sent this via my personal Facebook page today.

Looks like a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon.  It's a good long walk and it's an indoor exposition of Survival and Prep goods and services.

However.....MY question is....What are you going to do with my email address?

If I sign up for free tickets, I have to give an email address.
Whatchaya gonna DO with the address after that?

I realize I must give the Expo some way to send me my tickets...(email vs snail mail).  I get it.  App this, app that, everybody has an app for that.  But....AFTER the expo....Will my email be inundated with sales notifications, invitations to more expos, unsolicited solicitation?

Is it me?  I am a bit paranoid.  Sure, who isn't these days?  A little paranoia can save a life.

Yesterday (just the first thirty minutes), on the local Fox news, a woman might NOT have had her rear end fondled in her SHOWER, if she had been a little paranoid and made sure she locked her doors and windows after a jog around the park and some perv followed her home.
Another woman might NOT have been kidnapped in a carjacking if she had locked her car door while her boyfriend went in to the Circle K!  YEAH, in MY town, seriously.
AND maybe there might NOT have been an Amber alert and the entire Orlando police force on the lookout for an eight year old boy if his mom had been a little paranoid and locked her car doors while she was taking her behaviorally challenged child home from school.  Poor baby freaked out when he found out he would be in trouble at home and he bolted.  Fortunately a good Samaritan followed him while on the phone with 911 until the police stopped him MILES from home and mom.

Moral to today's post?
Lock your doors.  Get a junk email account and stop leaving yourself OPEN to disaster.

We shall see.  I have several email accounts.  One is almost as old as the internet!  I have never updated my phone, home address or other info in 17 years on that site.  So, I registered for the tickets.  I'm going.  I'll let you know about the results of surrendering the email address should there be any.
